There are some gas vehicles that may produce higher boost pressure levels and require a car boost gauge or truck boost gauge with a higher PSI. You can search through many different types of GlowShift analog and digital boost gauges to find the right style for your vehicle.

A boost gauge is optimal for any car or truck that has a turbo or supercharger installed. Both produce boost, and having a boost pressure gauge will help you make sure they are working correctly. Overbuilt pressure -- when your vehicle is producing too much boost -- can lead to piston and engine failure. Failure to do this properly could result in serious and costly damage to your engine.

The boost gauge install is a simple process. Depending on whether you are installing a mechanical or electronic boost gauge will determine any additional steps required to complete installation. Mechanical turbo gauges require splitting the vacuum line, inserting the T-Fitting and then running the vacuum hose directly to the back of the gauge. Electronic gauges require running the vacuum line to the electronic sensor and then connecting the sensor wire to the back of the gauge.

This method ensures the vacuum line will not get pinched from the firewall, preventing any loss of vacuum pressure. Note that both "high" and "low" vacuum are lower than atmospheric pressure due to moving air, thus the word "vacuum" is used, rather than "pressure", which usually mean compressed air. IMO, why need a gauge to gauge your foot position?

Could be a diagnostic tool which it is anyway if the car is really old. Because although boost is related to throttle position, it is not the same thing. Use the right tool for the job. Just because a spanner is hard, doesn't mean that you should use it to hammer nails.

It is the right tool if your car is carburetted. For NA cars, any vacuum condition is on part throttle. For FI, any reading above atmospheric is boost condition.
