Your academic advisor will assist you in determining whether the audit option is an appropriate option for you. Adding and Dropping Courses Course registration is a multi-step process that supports your academic progress through careful planning. Preparing Your Preferred Schedule in Advance of Registration The Schedule Ahead resource allows you to create sample course schedules for an upcoming term prior to your time ticket.
Additionally, please note the following important aspects of the Schedule Ahead resource: Schedule Ahead is available from Week 4 through Week 1 of an upcoming term i. You can create up to 10 mock schedules for an upcoming term. If you have registration holds , you will still be able to use Schedule Ahead, but will remain unable to complete actual course registration until your hold s are resolved. Registration is subject to course availability within established enrollment limits.
Closed Section Overrides will not be granted, no new course sections will be added, and students may not wait list for a closed section. Students should not register for classes that are offered during a time that would conflict with their co-op employment requirements. Possible next steps: Undergraduate students should review the course information and read the restrictions, select a section that does not have a restriction, or select another course.
All students that are billed on a per-credit basis will need to consult with their academic advisors in order to increase the amount of credits the student may register for per term. Graduate students at Drexel University may only register for up to a maximum of 12 credit hours for a term. If you want to register for more than 12 credits, you will need to consult with your advisor and the Graduate College in order to proceed with registering for more than the maximum credit hours.
Students who need to register for courses that are non-repeatable will require advisor assistance to register for the repeated course section.
Please see the University Repeat Policy for more information. Registration Holds and Restrictions If you are having trouble registering for classes, it may be because of a course restriction or a hold on your account. Registration Holds Holds are placed on a student's account for different reasons and by different University offices.
Any hold placed on your account will be listed in the Academic Alerts channel in the top left section of the screen. Registration Restrictions Courses can sometimes carry certain restrictions designed to ensure appropriate registration. Specific registration restrictions include: Closed Section Permission Required - i. Max Hours Exceeded Repeat Course Error Description Closed Section A closed section status supersedes all other errors, meaning any other registration error may be hidden behind it.
Level Restriction A level restriction status indicates that only students of a certain level either undergraduate or graduate can register for the course or that particular section of the course. If you should be taking that course that term, email the department who can help you with the following information:. A summary of your registered courses will appear on the top half of the screen and a block schedule view will appear on the bottom half.
To view the details of the ensemble course, click on the arrow icon to the left of the course title. If you wish to repeat a course because you earned a C- or below, your Academic Advisor must register you. You should do this as soon as the registration period opens to ensure you are able to be added to the class before it becomes full. If you wish to use the GPA adjustment policy when repeating your course, contact your Academic Advisor for the form.
The deadline for students to submit this form to their Academic Advisor is the last day of Week 2 of a term. If a course is full, students can register for a waitlist by selecting the waitlist option from the registration interface and submitting the changes.
Note, not all classes have electronic waitlist options. To see if a class has waitlist capabilities, check the section comments for the course on the Term Master Schedule. As seats open, they will be offered to students in order of their position on the waitlist.
When a seat becomes available, the computer will notify the first person on the waitlist. Note the 24 hours starts at the time the email is sent, not the time it is read, so check your email daily. Should you miss the hour window, you will lose your spot on the waitlist. If that happens you must re-add yourself to the waitlist if you still want to be in line for the class.
Students who web register for a waitlist are not guaranteed to be registered for that course, so students should register for other courses to complete their course schedules. Waitlist eligibility does not override other registration restrictions so make sure you are eligible to register for a course prior to registering for the waitlist. If you need a course for your minor, you should contact the minor advisor. Generally, for majors outside of Westphal, this is the Academic Advisor for the major program.
